Nowa takes in a tiny puppy, naming him Airi and raising him with love. Though Airi grows into a kind and gentle soul, his refusal to wean troubles Nowa. With hibernation approaching, Nowa wonders if his sweet, clingy pup will be okay—yet the winter sleep begins with that question unanswered.
