‘Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation’ Celebrates Its 5th Anniversary

The vanilla and comedic hentai Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation, caught attention for its dark-skinned waifu, celebrates its 5th anniversary.

Origin

The adult anime is based on Tonari no Ie no Anette-san, a series of mini-stories by artist Aoi Nagisa, first published in Comic Tenma magazine on April 13, 2009.

The renowned Pink Pineapple label released its first animated episode on January 31, 2020. To date, the series has three animated episodes, with the most recent one premiering on October 25, 2024.

Story

The protagonist’s life takes a drastic turn when his new neighbor, Anette-san, a dark-skinned woman with large breasts, knocks on his door to introduce herself. Being a shameless and blunt man, he begs Anette to fulfill his lifelong dream: to sleep with her. Being an accommodating woman, Anette can hardly say no, and he wastes no time in deflowering her.

Reception

Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation is one of Pink Pineapple‘s most significant hentai series due to its great sales success, reaching second place in the Getchu store rankings.

Despite its incredible reception in Japan, it didn’t have the same impact abroad, as it was overshadowed by other productions from the brand, such as Kaede to Suzu The Animation.

Thanks to its overwhelming success in Japan, it’s very likely that the Liliana-san x Anette-san franchise will continue releasing new animated episodes in the future.

• The hentai was animated by Seven and directed by Ohara Kazuhiro.
• Liliana-san appears as a main character in “Anette-san to Liliana-san The Animation,” a spin-off OVA that has no relation to the original plot of “Wagaya no Liliana-san The Animation” and “Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation.”
• On December 24, 2021, Pink Pineapple released a 36-minute compilation disc featuring only the sexual scenes from “Wagaya no Liliana-san The Animation” and “Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation.”
• The original plots of “Wagaya no Liliana-san The Animation” and “Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation” have not been confirmed to occur in the same world, but it is highly probable given the mini-stories where the female protagonists are in the same location.
• Unlike the first episode, featuring Anette’s neighbor as the protagonist, in episodes 2 and 3, the protagonist is the viewer, as these OVAs belong to the POV genre.
• In episode 2, Anette loses her virginity to the viewer.
• Artist Yoshihiro Katsura created an illustration where Anette and Liliana wear glasses, making a clear reference to Hitomi and Natsune, protagonists of Megane no Megami.
• “Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation” Episode 1 was the second best-selling on Getchu during 2020, only surpassed by the compilation pack of Saimin Seishidou. Subsequently, its following episodes and the crossover also managed to position themselves in the top 10 best-selling hentai in their respective release years.
